Our living rooms filled with the antics of Roseanne and Seinfeld while Home Alone and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were box office hits. Few of us knew what the Internet was or how the term “you’ve got mail” would redefine business communication. Inflation and unemployment were both over 5% as the country muddled through a recession. Into these headwinds, former college pals and 20-somethings Jon Klaus and Bruce Beaty formed VentureNet in the fall of 1990.
